Meet our founders Ian & Katie. They both have a large and diverse skill-set to serve you. They are newlyweds who just celebrated their nuptials in Tahoe and promptly fell in love with the area. So much so, they moved off their 32 foot sailboat in the Caribbean and onto land.
Ian earned an AS degree in Culinary Management and picked up new culinary techniques and knowledge in every stop in his stops around the world. Starting out in restaurants in the United States (Aspen, Hawaii, Alaska, Vail, NYC) and furthering his career internationally on yachts and vacation villas (British Virgin Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands). The abundance of fresh sustainable ingredients lends itself to Ian’s latest passion: experimenting with food preservation (fermenting/curing/smoking) and making everything possible in house.
Katie graduated from UC Davis and is excited to be back home in Northern California where she started at a local vineyard/winery. She also served in the Peace Corps in Nicaragua, was a program manager at a think tank in Washington, DC, and lived on the island of St. Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands) as a first mate on sailboats and as a scuba diving instructor.
